After couple of months without my Nikon CoolScan IV, and no Epson 2470. I was in the dumps with taking pictures with film. Hope was on the horizon. As I just ordered a Minolta Elite 5400 scanner back in early Feb.
Of course, the minute I order a 2003 released product, Minolta decided to refresh it. Just my luck! So now the bigger debate, should I cancel the order and get the Elite II 5400? Or just stick it out with the 2003 model....decission decission.
Luckly, thanks to the store that I ordered it from, they decided to send me this!

All I can say is now, I have new life in film again! I can't believe this scanner; at least compared to the Epson 2470 and Coolscan IV. 42Mpixel 35mm scan, who needs a 1DsMKII?!? ;)
I am still playing with it, but I can say that this is already blowing the doors off of my old scanners. With a claimed Dmax of 4.8, with a single pass it brings enough shadow details than scanning 5-7x multi-pass with my older machines.
I LOVE FILM!
