#3 is very nice, but it needs some real blacks IMO.

Assigned gray profile, converted to sRGB. That way all browsers will show it well.

Curves adjustment layer, quite strong "S" shape, with a mask and a bit of "blend if" to preserve the highlights (hair, skin).
Then a USM 20%; 30 px; threshold 3 IIRC, to improve local contrast. :)
