I'm looking for an adapter to mount to a tripod that holds a hot shoe flash and an umbrella.
Any idea where to find this?
Thanks,
Forest

These come wit a brass stud that will screw on to a standard tripod mount.

I have this kit. Very nice for the price.

might be a dumb question here but just wondering light stand with the larger I think 3/8" post sticking out the top or a standard camera tripod with the 1/4 threaded scrwe like piece out the top?
as I said might be a dumb one but I just want to make sure we are talking of the same thing.

I have light stands have both sizes (not on the same stand). The camera and flash stand use the smaller 1/4-20 threads.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/475575-REG/Impact__Digital_Flash_Umbrella_Mount.htmlI was looking at this one. Does it come with the stands? I'd think so, but was confused by something I read?
I also saw this one on Ebay

Instead of the kit, would you recommend buying the individual pieces?
Thanks,
dan

The Impact kit comes with everything. The umbrellas have a removable black backing so you can use them to shoot through too. I only recently received mine and have only played around with them a little, but they seem pretty well built for the money. With my two Vivitar 285’s and Wein optical triggers, they work very well. The eBay kit doesn't look too bad though. I liked the idea of buying from B&H so I didn't look much further. I can't see how you'd do better by buying the pieces individually.

Thanks for that info. I just thought of another question. When using them as a lightbox, would I be able to use my ST-E2 to trigger them, or does the flash go inside the lightbox?
My wife would be much happier with the $50 ebay kit, so I'm leaning that way although the umbrellas are kind of small, IMHO, for portraits.
Thanks,
dan

listed as including the following,
Two 7 feet light stands
Two removable cold shoes adapters
Two Deluxe Swivel flash mount umbrella holders
Two white Umbrellas 32"
Two 7 feet light stands
Two removable cold shoes adapters
Two Deluxe Swivel flash mount umbrella holders
Two white Umbrellas 32"
not a bad deal, seeing as I paid about $40 for adapters
last week. Although keep in mind this stuff is probably
light duty... IMHO, I'd rather skimp on accessories like this
stuff and pay more for stuff that's directly related to image
quality, like bodies and lenses

I think I saw your list somewhere, but when I checked B&H I didn't see the stands. Thank you.
I probably won't use this outside of the house, so light duty would be fine by me. Of course, I say that now and then my wife will have photo locations staked out :) I wish the Ebay listing info wasn't so sparse.
