I just got a Cokin Z-Pro filter holder and have been messing around with different configurations to avoid vignetting on my EF 10-22mm lens. With the holder left in its standard configuration, I noticed just a little of the holder in the picture at 10mm. With a filter in the first slot the filter is very loose. This is caused by the spacer as seen below:

I removed all but one filter slot on each side and also removed that spacer so the filter sits in there nice and snug. But, another issue is those two pins that stick out and prevent the filter from being adjusted further down. You can see them here at the bottom of the filter:

The pins seem like they are necessary to hold the entire holder on the adapter ring so I don't want to remove them. I added back a second filter slot on each side and used that slot to clear the pins and it did not vignette. But my filter is not flush against the face of the holder, is that a problem? I've heard that you may get some light reflecting back in from behind if it is not flush. It seems OK so far on the second slot, should I just quit worrying about it? If anyone has used this with one filter slot I would love to know how you dealt with the pins. Thanks!

Yeah, those bottom two pins are a PITA...pretty much the reason why I sold off the Z-Pro and went to the Lee holder. Plenty of threads on here about this very fact...didn't you do a search?

You can try reversing the pins, but if you happen to be out and about when you try this, dropping them and losing one or both can be an issue...I spent 20 minutes along a creek bed looking for one that I had dropped. Switched to the Lee holder and never looked back...
