I'm looking for a backpack to use. Right now I'm thinking of getting a Lowepro Toploader 65/70AW and just toss it into this bag and other stuff for my day trips. The site says that the straps in the back can hold a snowboard and or skis which seems pretty impressive to me. I wonder if the straps can secure a tripod? I want to put my Gitzo GT1530 in there. Any comments on the viability of strapping a tripod in the back?

Two hours and no takers. I don't know if this would work as well as you think just because tripods really need the added security when putting it on the back with just straps, no little pocket to put the legs. This is one of those times, it's up to you to get the dedicated camera gear backpack or use maybe some magic wraps to put a camera in and maybe add some extra straps for the tripod. I think you'd do better spending more money for exactly what would work, but $69 is inexpensive for a good camera backpack. Most are around $100 to hold a good tripod securely.

Buy it if it suits your needs. I'd never need to carry skis on my back or a snowboard lol can't say it's any use to me.

I'm not interested in buying a dedicated camera bag. I just want to get a Lowepro Toploader and I'll toss it into that bag if I need to carry the camera around. I forgot to mention that I intend to put my Gitzo tripod into a Gitzo tripod bag. Then maybe I'll strap it on the back. The only problem is that I'm not sure if it'll be secure.
