Im in the middle of a close up photoshoot with my boyfriend.... Soo I'm taking pix of his face with my 40d and 100mm macro. i have the lights off n a lamp in front of his face to light his face. I'm using a tripod n pix are comin out nice... but... only the side of his face closer to cam is in perfect focus, the other side is a bit blurred... what setting do i use to get his whole face in focus??? thanx guys!!

Change your f stop to something like f/8 or even f/11.

Slower shutter speed and larger f/number...
Try getting to f/5.6 or f/8 and see what happens.

Set your aperture value to a higher numerical number. f11 instead of f4 for example. What mode are you shooting in? Green box auto?

You need to stop down to a smaller aperture to get a larger depth-of-field. If you have a tripod and you can keep him still, give f/8 a go! It's all trial and error (unless you're good at maths, in which case you can Google a depth-of-field calculator).
Good luck! :)
Edit: looks like we all posted at the same time!

If using flash, shutter speed won't make any difference. Not sure what you meant by a lamp? Increase the power of the light and you can make the aperture smaller.
Depth of field is determined not only by aperture but also by distance to subject and focal length of your lens.

Use your timer or increase the amount of light.

When you move to f11 what shutter speed are you getting? If you can increase the amount of light great, if not try to increase your ISO.
Can you give some exposure info?

Use your timer or increase the amount of light.
What this good man said ^
Try to keep your shutter speed above 1/80th if you can help it!

I do the 2 second timer all the time when I've forgotten my cable shutter release.

Good stuff, xoiceox!
It looks like in some of those shots you've focused on your boyfriend's nose; in future find a focus point (or use the centre focus point and re-compose) that is in-line with his eye and then you've nailed it. :)
