Hoping someone can help mw with this. I have a Canon A40 camera, when ever I take any pictures with people, they always have red eyes. I have ensure that I am using the red eye seeting on the camera and has not helped at all. Only time I dont get red eyes, is if I do not use the flash.

Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I had the same problem but when I asked people to look at the Red Eye reducer it helped allot.

Thanks. . . but is there way of possibly avoiding the red eyes in cases where many people are in a room (lets say at a children's birthday party) and you just want to take some spontaious photos, and not having the group stop what they are doing, to pose for the camera.

I don't see anything in the manual about making any kind of adjustments to these settings?
Thanks.

I haven't really seen anything on it in the manual myself. I will try a couple of things like trying to bounce the Flash to see if that reduces the Red Eye. My guess is that it should help. I find the Flash really bright.

Will report anything I fnd on this issue.
