Hi - I purchased a Canon G10 recently, I am extremely happy with it. And so I joined this forum the second I purchased!

I went out on the weekend to give it a test tun, and I did some HDR shots, Panoramic Shots and some HDR Panoramas...

I really enjoy making panoramas, but with out the right hardware the quality is subpar. Does anybody know of a good lightweight setup for the Canon G10?

I am looking into lightweight tripods and heads. The key is weight and size.

I have been looking at RRS and Nodal Ninja heads and a good tripod to suit - does anybody have any setups they can suggest?

Thanks
Lee

For a P&s u could make one your self fairly easy. I used to do a lot of pans & I made all of my VR heads (for gripped DSLRs) myself. I couldnt stand the idea of shellin out $600-1200 for a heavy duty VR head.
SInce u just need yours for a G9 it doesnt have to hold a lot of wait. Try and google "DIY VR head" or "DIY pan head". There are a bunch of threads & articles out there that will show you how. However if your not to "handy" or just do not have the time, the panosaurus is prolly the cheapest head on the market & would work fine for a light weight P&S. Also if your not really looking to do mult-row pans u could construct a simple L bracket out of scrap aluminum or a window bracket found at Home depot.

Hope this helps~

I picked up a Nodal Ninja 3 MKII... Might be a bit of overkill for a P&S @ $440AUS, but it is all in the name of fun...

I am looking forward to my overseas trips even more now!
