Hey all.

I'll be travelling to Argentina in a couple of weeks and I'll be needing a converter to charge up all the various camera batteries, laptop, Ipod and such. Any suggestions on ther best one to get? Any help would be welcome. I don't want to fry all my gear...

Your Canon charger is 100-240 V, no transformer needed, just a plug adapter so it fits into the wall plug. Your laptop is probably the same. Look for markings on the chargers saying 100-240V 50-60 Hz.

Thanks Jon! I'm using a Delkin dual battery charger and it does say 100-240V, as does the Sony charger for my laptop. Just need to check the Ipod charger and get an adapter and I'm all set;)

One thing I did notice here (http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm)- one of the plugs Argentina uses is non-standard. Looks like one from Oz but is wired differently.

Since the odd-ball wiring is for the I-type plug and not the C-type, which is what the OP will likely use, it shouldn't really be a problem. He'll just need to get a two prong flat blade plug to two prong rounded pin plug adapter.

As I recall from the last time I was there, most households have the C-type so yes, I should be OK. Thanks for the heads up. I'll email my cousin and find out for sure.
