Does anybody have a raw file of a bird with a 50d? I am contemplating getting a 50d and using my 40d as a backup camera. I though if I could view a raw file or a full size jpeg it might push me over the edge. I got tired of reading debates on if its a good camera or not. Any help or opinion would be greatly appreciated...Jeff

I have thousands. The 50D is a great camera. Do not hesitate to get one. I have had a 10D, 3 20Ds, a MK IIN, a MK III, 2 40Ds and now 2 50Ds. Get the 50D! I am on a slow dial-up out in the countryside so cannot send you a Raw file. But, you don't live that far away from me......

Someone else's photo shouldn't be your justification to buy the camera.. that's just assuming that all cameras produce the same results

A photo from a 50d is a photo from a 50d either way you look at it. Looking at the .exif and the histogram in ACR will tell me 99% of the story. If its exposed properly and shutter speeds are good for the focal length used I can make a pretty good determination from there. Zoomin in 100% will give me a good indication of motion blur, basically the same process I go through now with my 40d.
What I was after was seeing for myself how much I can crop, how noisy the picture is in a outdoor situation (not inside Best Buy), how much time is added to PP with software not supporting 50d files, etc.... In my research I have found a couple of photos that give me a pretty good indication. Thanks for taking the time to comment...Jeff

What you're asking is more of a "USER" instead of a camera. :) If a user doesn't know how to use their camera then if you even throw them a 1ds mk III --> the result still crappy. Another choice for you is to RENT it and find out on your own. Why trust others on your money? :)

Ah, no... I'm just asking for a picture of a bird in a raw file from a 50d. I went to Best Buy and Calumet and took pictures with it but its not the same. Since then people have posted pictures of birds with the camera so I got what I needed.

Its amazing what people can extract from a simple request for "Anybody have a 50d raw file of a bird?". How many pictures do people look at before they buy a camera, none? Do we all just buy a camera off what the box says it will do? I didn't think it was that bizarre of a request but I guess I was wrong...Jeff
