OK I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this, as its not a true macro, but this category seemed best.

I took this photo with a 135mm F/2 L + 25mm extension tube. I processed the photo to be purposefully dark, as I wanted to convey the sorrow I felt in this scene.

Comments and Critique on any aspect of this photo is welcomed! Thanks to all who lend their opinions. http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

I think it works. I looked at it, before reading your explanation and I got the feeling you say you were looking for.

Nicely captured.

Definitely sorrowful, and I like how the highlights standout against the mostly dark feel of the photo.

Thanks everyone for your comments! In case anyone noticed them, there are some slight distractions in the lower right corner. I have sinced cloned them out so kindly ignore them. I just haven't updated the photo here.

I very much like the mood and the feel and the composition here but on my monitor at least it's just a bit too dark. I think I would open it up just a little so that the subject is quite so obscure.

Just my $.02 worth,
Jim

Good call Jim, the subject is lost in the dark and I have a hard time looking for it.
I do think the photo has good impact in it's subject, I'd just enjoy seeing it better.

Hummmmmm. Yes it is a dark photo, though I have had no trouble seeing it at all. Has your monitor been properly calibrated recently? Mine is brand new and bright, so there may be some difference there. But of course there's no denying its a dark photo, and possibly the brightness of my screen hides that fact from me a bit.

I like it, I don't think it's too dark.
