Great shot of bird for sure!! But, The only bit of constructive advice I can give is that the string that the bird is purched on looks over prossesed and unnatural. I was actually distracted by it so I thought it was worth mentioning. I'm not one to look for things like that but it just jumped out at me. Otherwise, this is a National Geographic quality shot if I ever seen one!!

Hi,

Well, the shot does indeed look nice, but the eye and it's surroundings look somewhat blurry, it appears as though you used too much of an open aperture? and you focused on the very small patch of white just before the wint starts.
I'm also guessing you were probably zoomed in at the max 300mm?

it would be nice to include camera settings - give us more idea of what you were doing with the camera itself.

Keep Shooting :)

Hi all.. I was waiting for someone to say the dreaded word blurry. I have had loads of issues with focas on my 10d but i have learnt to accept this cause i bought cam secondhand. I have tested camera against a chart i got of net and wide open with 50mm 1.8 images are out of focus by quite a lot. Seems camera is focusing about 2-3 inches in front of image.. Nevermind ..

Great photo, blurred or not. I now live in Canada and the English Robin is by far my favorite bird.
I collect photos of English Robin's and would very much like to add this one to my collection if you have no objection.

I wouldn't have noticed any blurring myself and had a job confirming it - I don't think it is an issue: I suppose a touch of 'Unsharp Mask' would soon see that off anyway. The photo is just superb - nothing to CRITICIZE [CRITICISE ? ]in my opinion...!!
