Ditto for me. Cancelled one order and went with B&H, my first choice always for reliable service.
At the very least B&H should give a substantial donation to this forum. There is now proof it sends business their way.

OH MY!! I just ordered mine!! I've still been teetering between the 20d and the XT, and well, going from a G5 I'm sure the rebel will be like a dream! And I figure it should hold it's value well and then I can upgrade when I learn all there is to learn on it!
Of course I'm a wimp and paid extra to have it shipped extra fast!!! I'm sooo excited!

If this is the first time you have ordered from B&H, make sure you call them and verify your information or your order might sit with a "processing" status for days until you finally DO call them and they'll have you verify anyway.
Cheers,

Does this mean that the product has been released to all stores now? Amazon still has the release date as March 20. The only thing keeping me from canceling my order is that there is no tax (With B&H I would have to pay $80 tax + shipping b/c I'm in NY) free shipping, plus $100 promotional certificate (I also bought something else so the total was over $1000). Hmmmm....what to do.

Does any one else think the 1600 iso shot on dpreview is better than the 20d @ 1600 iso?
After some study, I think it is.

I ordered mine from Focus Camera in Brooklyn, $1118 total - 29.95 s/h and the rest tax. Got it the next day.
I too wanted the Amazon gift card but it taked 6-8 weeks to arrive and I wanted the camera now for a trip.

Canon obviously has their *hit together. Announcing a camera and delivering it less than a month later. Unlike Nikon who announced their 12MP camera back in September but just delivered it out the end of February.

I just reviewed the review on Dp..
Those are some dang clean images that camer takes. I like that.
I think the iso 1600 shot is right up there with the 20D images.@ iso 1600.
I also saw they were using a 17-85 on it ..
Definetly some sweet images out of that camera.

Yeah, it certainly feels that way, doesn't it. I've been wanting to buy a dSLR for a long time. Had 20D in mind. DReXT comes along and fits the bill. B&H has it in early. ;)

Thanks so much for sharing this info. I pre-ordered mine at Ritz. I called to see if I can cancel mine but the girl working there has no clue. She said to call back tomorrow. Well I guess if they do not let me cancel, I can always return it.
I have not ordered from B&H. I guess from what I hear they are legit?
Thanks again!

Mine says "Pickup status" (using fedex). Sadly, the estimated delivery time for me is Monday. Hopefully for some reason they step it up a notch for no reason and deliver it on saturday. =)
Fedex does deliver on saturdays right? I know Sundays they don't.

Extended warranty can be purchased from this web site.
http://www.prophotogear.com/mack/mackwarranties.htm
It says you don't have to buy the warranty from the same place you bought the camera. I know Mack warranties have received some bad press but usually it is only because they are slow. Still, better than nothing and the price (on the link above) is right! -- Dave

I posted earlier about B&H getting it out on time yesterday. Last night, around 9:30 PM, I got an email saying that it was shipped. I had 2 day delivery, so I should get it tomorrow. B&H sends out the update emails late in the day it seems, so don't lose faith if you order something. I normally never take quick delivery...mainly because I am cheap like that....but I thought it would be nice to have the camera in hand by the weekend to play with.
Surprisingly, my wife is looking forward to me getting the camera. She wants me to take "model shots" of her. That was one of the "techniques" I used to convince her to let me buy this sucker. ;) Shhhh...don't tell her, else the gigs up.

Reading this topic, I feel like something is wrong with me. I have Digital Rebel/300D and really don't want to upgdare to 20D or 350D. Of course, they are nice cameras, but my next DSLR must have a full-size censor, at least 12MP and a price tag around $1,000. Until a camera like this is available, I really don't see a point in upgrading.

After a long day at work today, a B&H box was waiting for me on the kitchen table. After carefully unpacking, I saw it. What a beaut...the size and feel is just right for me (I came from a Nikon F2 35mm slr, remember those?) and the build and finish is outstanding. The battery is charging now, while I am poring thru the manual. Can't wait for some shootin' time...
Thanks to those who influenced my decision towards this purchase. Lenses come next...

Mine arrived today via UPS. It is just what they promised -- black. The most confusing part of it is the software. Out of curiosity, do you need ANY of it if you already have downloading and editing programs? I can't find any software descriptions that suggest they will have an effect on the operation of the camera -- settings etc.

I used ZoomBrowser EX "Aquire & Camera Settings" to enter my name as camera owner on the DrebelXT. I don't know any other way to do this.
Also, in the past I've always used BreezeBrowser / Downloader Pro to view & acquire images. I don't know if BBPro has the capability to work with the DrebelXT *.cr2 files, yet. That's a question for a different thread or forum.

NO, but you may if you shoot any RAW, since Breezebrowser and C1 Pro don't handle it's .CR2 files, yet. :(
