Help with 1D software

I have tried installing the software Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk that came with my 1D and can't do it. When the application begins installing the software before it gets to the end it shuts off and restart my computer everytime. Am I missing something...from what I see it doesn't show where it has anything for winXP and maybe they have the software for XP now that I can't find. Anyone who can help me with this situation I would really appreciate it much.
