What do you think is the BEST A3 printer for under $800 USD?

I've seen some very nice prints from the epson PX-G5000 and also from the canon Canon i9950
(? the ~670 dollar one...)

The PX-G5000 looks AMAZING. I'm looking for the best A3 printer.
I've still got some learning to do though. I've noticed there are two A3 sizes. a regular A3 and an A3+ (?), I definitly want the A3+ because it's noticably larger and I want a printer that can print edge to edge on A3+.

Do any of you have your own A3 printer?

I'm mainly looking to print photos to be hung on walls in my house and possibly selling some prints too...

Please help me make a good decision as my time frame for this purchase is the next 3-4 months. Thanks guys.

Pleaes define what you mean by A3 and A3+. I've only seen printers that can handle paper 13" wide. A couple of Epson printers will take 13" paper up to 44" long.

297 x 420mm (A3 or ledger size)
310 x 420mm (A3+)

that's what i pulled off of some site, but in the store i noticed that A3+ was wider and longer than A3, it seemed like A3+ was about 2 inches longer and about one inch or so taller, but i'm not sure of the exact sizes... anyone?

I've just started doing my homework on printers yesterday so I'm probably more clueless than anyone around here.....

I just know that after comparing the two, i definitly want the A3+ because it's noticible larger than A3

Basically it's talking about 16x12 ( which would still work in a printer that can do 13x19 ), and 310x420 would be just roughly 13x16 , which would still work in say Epson 2200, R1800, Canon i9900 (i9950 in europe), etc.

I print canon A3+(13x19) on my canon i9900 and get great prints. It's fast and quiet.

Canon i9900 all the way. Speed and quality is super duper.

Another vote for Canon.. I love my "older" i9100 :)

thanks for the info guys. i've decided to wait for the R1800. I compared 2 A3+ prints of the same photo on the same paper from the R1800 (PX-G5000 here) and the i9900. R1800 is WAY better.

One little problem, between the i9900 and R1800 , its an unfair comparism to use the same paper, but rather use the paper each brand recomends, as the R1800 is a pigment based printer, and canon a dye based, if using the same paper, it'll look better on whichever type of ink the paper favors.
