Hey everyone, below are photos of my 3 rugrats that I took last weekend. This is my first attempt at side-lighted B&W portraiture. Please tell me what you think and do be brutaly honest. I'd love to hear comments on technique, composition or anything else (just no insulting my kids ok? ;) ). Thanks in advance.

I think 001a is excellent - nice lighting and great pose - and if you were to use PS to remove the smudge on the right side of the photo it would be perfect. The 2nd photo (Jason_001_sm) is not so good because the left side of the baby's face is too dark but it's a nice capture. I love the pose in the third one (a_BW_001). Well done

Wow, the first shot is great! I think it is the best because it is very dramatic, yet all the features are still visible. I like the second one as well, although not as much. The third one I don't like that much. The rugrats are all cute, though. Good work!

The first is very good. I agree that the second is a little dark on the left side. The third doesn't have the right composotion. The head needs to be balanced by including some shoulders.
Keep up the great work!
