Greetings!
By now most of you know that I love taking pictures of my daughter Julia. Well, she's almost a year old (in 2 weeks) and just about walking on her own so my great plan was to trade in the DRebel for something faster (20D, 1 series bodies). I'm no sports photographer but I thought it would be helpful to have something that has faster AF for this quick moving kid! I happened upon a good deal for a well-used 1D. My only misgivings were the MP; but after a few days of intense reading, the choice was clear. I had never even held a 1D so it was with a small amount of trepidation that I traded my favourite lens (135F2) and some cash for this camera. (sorry Drisley!!:o) Camera arrived yesterday and it is a totally new experience. Lots to learn......I actually have had to read and reread the manual. There is so much to this camera. And all I read is true..........the AF is unreal, viewfinder is terrific, and the quality of the shots.........well, these were some of the first ones I took of Julia and I am more than happy. (mind you it took me 10 minutes to figure out how and where to insert the CF card. I will get another 135F2............miss that lens already. In the meantime, I will use the 85F1.8 a lot more (and it now acts more like a 110mm instead of a 136 mm). Enjoy........
