I use a standard AB 800 with its 7 inch reflector and the shoot thru umbrella for my wedding formal potraits in churches. Typical situation where group or couple stands on stairs by alter, I have my AB above and behind me. I was browsing and saw the USK Spill Kill Reflector listed as a good tool. I am wondering if I "should not" be using the 7 inch reflector with my umbralla or if the spill kill is what I should use instead. I am happy with my current results but am wondering if this is what the spill kill would help in some way.
A second question. Perhaps more important. I am currently using the shoot thru umbrella facing the subjects as I take the formal wedding photos standing about 10-15 feet back from the group. Should I put the black cover on it and spin it around so that the light is reflecting back off of the interior of the umbrella rather than through it? Is that the way I was supposed to do it all allong?:o
