i shot in a studio today, pretty much the first time
and these are photos of my kids
theres a few softboxes and one bounce umbrella
but why do I have this blue tint on the background and not white

here i tried to color over it, but also i have a very difficult time seeing the blue on my monitor, i have a pretty old flat screen lcd monitor
so if i look at the photo from straight pov, i dont see any blue in these bottom pictures, but if i look at it at a very very low angle, i can see them...
anyway to fix this issues? also... what would be the best way to get rid of all this blue... incamera and pp... thanks

If you look closely you can see the blue tint is caused by the shadow of the light that is illuminating your little girl. The "best" way to get rid of it is to seperately light the white background with another flash unit and keep the subjects out about six feet from the back wall. The other way is in Photoshop but leave the shadows under them. As you can see in your second image your children are "anchored" to the floor by the shadows underneath them. Look at the third image. Your little girl appears to be floating above the floor because there are no shadows under her.

It isn't the blue clothing, it is the shadow from the subject. Even if she were dressed in white the shadow would still be there. By adding an additional light behind and above the subjects aimed down and at the background it would wash out that shadow and the background would be white.

See below. I took the Magic Wand and clicked on the background, then while holding down the Shift key I continued clicking on the background until all of it (that I eventually wanted white) had marching ants around it. Then I hit "Q" and the masked areas turned red. I then took a small hard brush at 100% and painted the dark areas in between the girls legs and under the boy in red. I then hit "Q" again and making sure I had white as my foreground color I hit "Alt" and "Backspace" at the same time and the background became white. I then dodged the area in front of them a little bit so it more closely matched the background.
A calibrated monitor will show colors more accurately.
