Day time race correct?

IF so get your shutter speed around 1/60-1/80 to do panning shots of the cars going around the track. Depending on light, ISO 100-400 should be enough. I would try to shoot in manual mode, set your shutter speed and f/stop and shoot away.

With the shutter at 1/60-1/80 you will get the panning effect (motion blur) Remember to keep your camera in AI Focus mode, that way if can detect movement and switch to AI Servo to track the cars, or on shot for those pit stop shots.

Good luck, BTW how did you get pitt passes? Or is this media related?

I would pan with the cars, you may end up getting alot of blurred pictures if you just wait for them to enter the frame.

ISO 100-400
Av - 4.5 (I belive is wide open on the 100-400)
Tv - 1/60-1/80

I always like seeing pics of my fellow home town boy winning a race. To bad the car didn't pass post race inspection.

I like the burn out pic!
