Sigma 105 macro lens build quality.

Hi all.
I am new to the forum.

I have a question concerning Sigma's 105 build quality.
I received this lens yesterday and i am not quite sure if everything is OK, because the part which is expanding (barrel?) is not mounted very tight to the rest of the lens.
What i mean is that when you shake the lens gently you can feel that the "barrel" part is moving slightly.Also when you grab the "barrel" part it is possible to move it in any direction by maybe 0,3-0,4 mm.

Is that normal for this lens or should i return it?
The lens is new .

I don't have the lens, but this is normal for my lenses with extending barrels, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes mine moves slightly when fully extended - don't worry about it- just see if the pics look sharp

Hi all.

Thank you for your input.
It makes me feel better now.

LordV, yes ,i was going to check the sharpness of the lens but yesterday my 40D gave me an err99.
It is the mirror which is not going up anymore.(4.4K actuations)
I will need to send it to Canon repair center (oops, only 16 days of warranty left :) ).
