Hi,
I am trying to upload images to my A720IS but can't. I keep getting an error about checking my connection, batteries, etc... they are all good.
The images are ones I had previously taken with the same camera and had dowloaded to my computer. They have not been edited in any way.
Is there a troubleshoot for this. Why does it refuse to upload?

What application are you using to try this? What is the exact wording of the error message?

It may very well be that you're not supposed to that. Were you able to upload images before?

Do you have a memory card reader you could use instead?

Well, I upgraded to Canon Utilities Zoombrowser EX 6.1.1 Version 6.1.1.21 and it now allows me to upload...
Now the only problem is it will only allow 1 photo upload at a time. I am unable to select multiple photos to transfer. Is there a way to do this with this version of Zoombrowser EX?

I think that that is all you can upload (one at a time) because I tried that for a while and it was just too much trouble. I went out and bought a mini hard drive to transfer to my other computer.
Canon needs to update their software to make what you want happen.
I wish that they'd put out a software upgrade. One thing I hate is only being able to digitally zoom in and out while recording a movie. Canon said that they froze this feature during recording because the lensemade too much noise.

Why? Why not use a card reader if you need to put a lot of photos back onto the camera? And really, why do you want to put (presumably edited) photos back on the camera? There are much better ways of showing them to other people, if that's what you want to do. iPods, cell phones, DVD players, TVs all spring to mind. Honestly, people, just because something can be done doesn't mean that it should be done.

You are all correct... I suppose I could go out a buy a card reader... but you would think that if the software Canon put out says it does the job, then it should do it.
What I am really trying to do is upload images to my SD card via my camera so that I can use that SD card in a digital Frame.... that's all (just avoiding the extra ordeal of buying another device - a reader). But it looks like I will have to purchase a card reader I guess.. thanks for the help.
