View Full Version : Anyone know how to rotate a G7 .avi 180°?

Here's the thing: I can pretty easily mount my G7 on a 1" ball from my rear-view mirror, and shoot films of track events, high-speed runs, etc. But the camera would be hanging upside-down.
Is there some software to simply rotate the video 180° after the fact, and if so, do you think the perspective would be weird?
Or is there a way to rotate the image on-board, so I wouldn't even have to mess with software?
Whatcha think, am I out there swinging?

Certainly not (out there swinging, that is).
Any GOOD video editing software will allow you to do this.
Also, I have done a few smaller files using Quicktime.
Plenty of options. Just look at the features of some of the software packages.

Thanks for the reply. In the cross-post over in the Video subforum, I was linked to VirtualDub, and it worked great for the flip, but the filesize went from 29.1MB to 414MB.
Not sure what the larger filesize comes from - the bit rate and dimensions didn't change. Anyone know what option I should look for to retain the smaller filesize?
I'll try Quicktime too, and see if it keeps it small.

Did you select a video compression method (ctrl-p) prior to the rendering?

I didn't - any suggestions? It's all Greek to me:

EDIT: Got it! Used the Xvid MPEG-4 and it did the trick really nicely.
Thanks for the help gang~
