Hey guys I just picked up this bad boy. I installed all the software for the 5D but I don't think I found the program that will resize the videos I recorded. Maybe I overlooked it somewhere. Some assistance would be awesome. Thanks! The videos are really choppy, I'm not sure if its because my laptop can't keep up with playing 1080p or what.

what cpu do you have in your laptop? if it won't play back well, editing could be difficult... worst case, transcode your raw mark5 videos into an intermediate codec that is easier to edit... prores on the mac, or on the pc, i use canopus hq.

the free vlc media player will handle h.264, but there is no video acceleration with it.

The video recorded in 5D Mark II is Full HD, It is not easy to play back smoothly in many laptop computer, except you have a very good video card.
Try the K-lite Mega Pack, it has allmost all the codec.

This is codec only, it can not boot up your laptop playing speed.
I have the Canopus Procoder, it is very easy to use and very fast transcoding application.
