I walked today in my hometown, the old part. It is a cultural heritage, Almost all houses are older than 160 years... The photos I made aren't the standart places people and tourists visit when they go there. The Old City is a Architectural Reserve, or they call it that way. I know only that these photos are really sad. At least to me they are.
Of course, there is a part of the Old Town, where things are different. It is maintained because of the tourists and if you are to guide someone, you should know where to take the people. _NOT_ to the places I shot. Anyway... Enough talking. If you want, I'll let you know some more about the Old Town. Here are the pics:

Are these homes abandoned and neglected? The first three remind me of the earthquake damage around here after the Northridge Earthquake several years ago.

Yes, they are. And that part of the town being a reserve, having this kind of abandoned buildings... Beautiful buildings is a really sad thing...

I like old buildings. Hope they can save them. #1 and 3 could use some levels adjustment - too dark.

Jim, the point is that they DO NOTHING for this buildings.. that's why it's so sad...
I'll see about the levels...

Lovely old buildings, particularly like the second. It's sad they don't repair them I'm such correctly reinstated to there original look they'd look wonderful. Then again a bad renovation job could look awful, perhaps they are nice as they are now, derelict.

what a shame
I love the cobbled streets and the buildings.
as to what they once were
even now they look proud
did the people have to leave these houses in the last revolution (nearby? )
at all ?

whatever,
it would take a lot of money to get these these buildings into good condition again
maybe enough money will come from the tourists visiting the other parts of town
eventually ?
maybe that is the plan

i'm lovin' "the road" Looks like all the things that are mimiced in a lot of modern design these days, with the exposed brick of the wall. Looks awesome.

Wow, old. The oldest house around me is three doors down built in 1915, which I bet would be new in a place like that. I watched the movie "The Pianist" tonight and those homes look just like the ones at the end of the movie. Europe is a nice looking place in most movies but usually us New Worldians don't get a chance to see the decay. Thanks for sharing them and very amazing to this person that see Vynal Siding everywhere.

Great shots, and it is indeed sad that such interesting buildings have been completely neglected. :( I especially like the beautiful door in the third photo.
