Went to a Red Sox game a few months ago and sat right behind the bullpen. The catcher was done warming someone up and I saw him put his mask and glove down and it looked kinda cool so i snapped a picture.

Let me know what you think.

I tired it in B&W too.

I think it could use a tighter crop and different composition. It is framed dead center on the mask and glove. Also change the perspective. From the point where you shot it (standing up looking down) it looks like you are standing up looking down on it (go figure). Frame the shot in a unique and interesting way, something the viewer wouldn't be used to. As it is right now, I don't think the B&W is doing anything for the shot. There's too much gray and it just doesn't make for a very interesting photograph. The warm color of the mask looks good to me though, so I would go that route.

What about adding a little both?

agree with rd...comp will be huge in making this an gret photo. my take would be to process it to give a nostalgic feel. Dodge and burn and maybe some light rendering filters could really make this sing. add some vignette and maybe even some film grain and...well you see where I am going. An image like this is not so journalistic and therefore a lot of processing could be very fun.

Dont like the b&w one as much as the color, but I agree with Scott, playing with this one on the post processing side would be fun

Cool shot

It looks to "set up" for me, and straight on takes away from it...not that you could do much sitting from your seat.
