I was checking some of the pic sI took last year with my 18-55 kit. And some of the this year with same lens. What I found that old pics were take in LAndscape mode and the APerture was like near f-11 and the sky was deeper dark blue. And the pics I took after that are on aperrture priority and the aperture is on f-8. So I was just want to clear that is it poosible to get deeper blue sky when aperture is stopped down?

I think you will find that it is due to picture styles as opposed to the aperture.

Assuming identical conditions in both photos, the exposure would be identical (as its the camera that has decided the exposure level (unless you applied any exposure compensation to either). All the differrent aperture setting will mean is that the Depth of field is slightly different.

The different picture styles that you will have used though are:
1) Landscape mode will probably use the landscape style which boosts greens and blues.
2) Aperture priority will faithful IIRC which does not boost colours.

I tend to steer clear of the preset styles as i prefer to make my own choice of whether to boost the colours or not.

Ok, you mean taking photographs in full LANDSCAPE MODE will be producing deeper blue skies as compared to taking pics in APERTURE priority and with landscape picture styles?

All using the preset Landscape mode will do is tell the camera to shoot at smaller apertures, it won't do anything to boost the sky's color. If you shoot with the Landscape picture style however in any mode, you will notice slightly more saturated colors. Stopping down won't change the color of the sky.

Ok, you mean in same conditions, both aperture priority set to f11 and in landscape mode which also get f11 (by chance) would get same results?

if you have your camera manual, find the page about picture styles, and it will explain to you which picture style has the effect on color and sharpness

Yes I know that. I am using my camera from more than a year. That was just a question I asked for General Knowledge. :)

An older post but I've found that even in Full Landscape mode, it doesn't product a "popping" blue or red. Try using a polarizer and it'll product those blue's you're looking for. I even used them for some snap shots of soccer playing and the colors were bright and vivid.
