I know the flash has made it a little dodgy, but I really like this never done anything like it before, nor suprising seen as I only got my camera recently.

It looks to me,you took the shot to close to the subject and your cam focus'd on the background.If your cam has a zoom(sorry i dont know if your cam has one ?)take another shot further away but zoom in,then your cam can focus.

Oh and have some side lighting and not direct over the top.To give it some atmosphire.

Samsung is ok , but I should prefer any Canon Powershot A series , as you see direct flash light doesnt give better result, you should bounce or you should use light-box .

I actually kinda like the effect. It's kinda glowy, and to me it seems really 80's.

Very good. In this instance out of focus is appropriate.

the first picture is extremely out of focus. the second one is not bad.
