Now that I've gotten my hands on a 1:1 macro lens, I've been looking around for every critter to take a picture of. In California, where I go to school, there are some to be found, but at home in Arizona there are generally very few. So those of you that live in Arizona-Nevada-New Mexico area (if there is anyone here), where do you find your subjects?

when I shoot macro I usually go to

http://arboretum.ag.arizona.edu/

and have been to http://www.thearb.org/

or where ever you can find plants, or even at the Zoo and the botanical gardens right next to the zoo.

Maybe Frank (user name Hatch1921) can point out some spots, come over to the AZ section and ask.

I have found that when I DO find insects in Arizona, I'd rather I hadn't.

I swear everything out here either bites, stings or pricks you. :sigh:

Turning over rocks is a good place to start. ;)
