I'm setting up a friend's 10D shooting tethered on a Mac OS X 17 inch PowerBook.

I'm downloading all the lastest Canon apps and pdfs as I write this...

I just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems shooting this way. The latest method is to go through Digital Photo Professional via the Tools menu to EOS Capture.

I'll be testing this with my Rebel to get an idea how it works...I just have to find the cable! Dang-It...I thought I'd never use it for my Rebel now can't find it.

Is it true that the camera's LCD screen in back needs to be off while shoot tethered?

Thanks,

John V.

I don't normally shot tethered to the computer but I did shot a couple of test frames just to make sure that it works, and it does. You can actually go through either the DPP or the EVU. Either way, it'll take you to the Remote Capture program which needs to be installed separately since it's not part of DPP or EVU.

As far as the display is concerned, I didn't do anything to it when I did my test shots. Maybe the display blanks out automatically (I'm just guessing here).

Thanks PacAce!

I haven't been able to find my Rebel usb cord to test out, so I'll wing it tomorrow at my buddies studio. I'll give you all an update on how it went.
