Page background textures

I've been building an EE site for my artist partner, and I love EE! I would like to have a background texture on all the pages. I've added backgound="mytexture.jpg" to all the table tags in the default page for the photo viewer, but there are still two spots that don't show the texture image---boxes on both left and right sides of the image. (I've redone the graphics for the image frame and got it working nicely with my texture).

I've also tried adding the background to all the body tags---no luck.

Has anyone solved this problem before me?

I found the background image variable on the stylesheet (white.php), chnaged that to my tiled image's url, and voila! EE is sweet.
