Indeed I did. I'm just curious if getting this already-put-together kit would be comparable, if the price is good, or if I should just piece it together when I get the motivation, as others have.

A card board box, a couple sheets of diffusion paper, and a couple of Home Depot shop lights are a lot less in cost than that pretty lightbox. :)

for 60 bucks I think its a good deal but are 50 watt lights going to be enough?

if it's static subjects, why not? you can slow the shutter as much as you need since the object won't move.
