Bart . . .

I stopped and talked cattle with Bart on the way home tonight. I asked if he minded if I took a photograph of him. I was surprised that he thought that would be just fine. I like these guys that are about twenty years older than I . . . yet still out doing the job every day. A very nice man.

It is amazing the amount of physical work these guys can do in one day. I would be sore and be limping the next day if I had to do just a few hours of their work.

I work in a surgical hospital RJ and these old guys are the best patients. They've worked hard and taken a lot of hard knocks in life and they figure surgery is just another one not to complain about. I love the western feel of this and the mountains in the background are very nice.

Evening Maureen . . . I figured out he is 69 or 70 and he gets on fine by me. We seem to not be replacing these type of fellows. Marie the temp is around fifty and is very warm for us. Pradeep1, I must agree he most likely could/would work a bunch of us into the ground. He loves the beauty of the spring and talked of the grass and his need for a little rain. I spoke of my need to get rid of two feet of snow. We only live six miles apart as the crow flies, yet in different worlds as to climate. The valley over, where Bart lives, is two to four weeks ahead of us.

He is the real deal . . .

it's just great that you can travel the six or so miles and get such a different climate RJ.

there are many like him everywhere.
it's probably they just arn't seen around so much
or sometimes we don't stop long enough to see and hear them

Nice cowboy shot. :) I think the hard work is what keeps these guys going. No cowboys around here but I know a lot of construction workers still going strong into their 70's.

Nice shot, but it look a little like you photoshoped some shadow off his face. Just makes the lighting there look odd.

Yes to the PS on the face . . . my first dodge tool use. I did not like the shadow of his hat and thought it perhaps better to see the face more. Tell me how to do this correctly? I am always trying to learn and improve . . . I am glad that it was brought up. I learn more from these than the other . . .

Thanks everyone for enjoying Bart with me. I'll have to find a 'right' way to fix it for his print. I am sure his kids will want one as well. Dad is hard to get to hold still for such . . . unless the mood strikes him so.
