Hello all!

I have been reading your posts for a couple of months now in order to gather information about the 20D. I took the plunge, based on your discussions and got the 20D a couple of weeks ago. I am very pleased with it. I want to say “Thank you” to the providers of this forum as well as all of you who support it.

I have been an amateur photographer for as long as I can remember. I was using manual 35mm or P&S cameras until 2000 when I finally got “authorization” to get an Elan 7e (I had the birth of our daughter as an excuse to upgrade:) ). I have been using that camera very frequently since I bought it, and since I had a traveling job, I have been able to get some good photos from places all over the US.

I am a computer and networking professional and I have been doing that sort of work for about 17 years (has it been that long?!?). Oddly enough I do not have a web site yet, but I hope to have one soon. I have many photos, and some are even interesting. I have a film/slide scanner so I can make my film pics digital pretty easily. I recently changed jobs to eliminate my travel (family first, you know) so I hope to have more time to organize and share my work.

I am happy to answer questions and I hope I can provide some good feedback to questions posted here.

I’m glad this forum is here. Thanks again.

Welcome.

After following this forum for a while I assume that you have contacted your broker and told him to "sell everything" to free up a some cash for your next few purchases of Canon equipment.

Welcome. I recommend that you contact B&H to arrange for direct deposit on your pay check. It saves an incredible amount of time, as they'll just drop-ship items from your wish list as soon as you've accumulated enough in your account.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I already have a mechanism in place to keep me from spending too much. MY WIFE!

A few years ago I bought my macro lens, used, in a camera shop in Lansing MI without asking first and I have yet to hear the end of it. So now I have to clear everything with the "boss".

Yes, I know I whipped, but still married.
