imoviehd exported to a format you can embed, also you can also export to iweb and it will create the page for you.

if you use a card reader, just navigate to the card using finder and copy the movies. If you are connecting the camera straight to you mac, navigate to your camera in the finder and copy the movies off the memory card.

What versions of ilife apps do you have? I think most of them have send to web built in.

I just came across your dilemma and hope I can help.

If your using an iMac your in luck. You can make a video or slideshow (photos) using either iphoto or imovie. Simply attach your camera to your imac and download (automatically) into iphoto or imovie.

The best suggestion I can give you is to do what I've been doing for years and am having a ball doing it. Go to you local Apple Store and enroll in the "One to One" course. It costs $99 per year and with that you get a one hour lesson with your private Apple "Genius".
Just tell him what you want to do and he will get you going. Your allowed one session a week if you desire.

I'm enclosing a slideshow that I just finished and posted onto youtube. Check it out and you can see what I'm talking about. If you have any questions, email me for more info.
Hope I can help. And hope you enjoy the slideshow.
