Well, I am a newb, both to the forums and DSLR cameras. So, my first newb question is about my new charger. My camera (Canon XS rebel) has the LC-E5 battery charger. The problem is, the battery does not have a long usage time. So, I am wondering if I see two bars, or even 1, left on the battery, can I plug it in and it will only put as much charge as it needs to make it full? Because with my old rechargable batteries I had to wait to their energy was totally drained. Do I have to do this with my battery pack?

If this sounds confusing, I am sorry, it was kind of difficult to explain. Thanks!

Your XS batteries are lithium ion, not NiMH or NiCD. They can be recharged at any time, and in fact are likely to be damaged if you run them totally flat too often.

Thanks for the advice!
