View Full Version : WHO'S COMING: Bronx Zoo Shoot 'Em UP
MDJAK
13th of December 2008 (Sat), 18:08
When: Saturday, December 20, 2008
Where: Bronx Zoo: Meet at the Polar Bear Enclosure at 10:15 a.m. (Zoo opens at 10)
Why: So we can freeze our butts off and have a bit of fun.
Why (2): Because all you New York POTNers are a bunch of deadheads and never do nothing together if someone don't give you a good swift kick in your arse.
So, who's coming?
Me.

No nighttime christmas lights this year; energy saving measure. Sucks, but that's a fact.

Chess tournaments are not only B O R I N G, but a highly overrated spectator sport. As to NBA basketball, do they still play that sport? Does anybody still watch it? I think not.

Used it today at Hunter Mountain shooting some snowboarding. As long as it's mounted on a monopod, it's a pleasure to use, incredibly sharp, super fast focus. Love it.
In the zoo, Connie=me=boy, hang it over the shoulder, like an over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder, and it's also just poifekt.

The zoo is the best in the winter. Excellent landscapes, no people. Almost as good a combination as a capless 2x tc kept in a hermetically sealed jockstrap attached to a 70-200.

PS: I didn't go. I picked up a black on black '09 Acura MDX Sport model instead. First went to DeFonte's Sandwich shop in Brooklyn, 60 miles south of my humble abode, for hot roast beef heros (my son and me, that is) dripping in gravy on the absolute best hero bread going.
Then stopped off in Chinatown, went to Wo Hop, the best restaurant around, took home three orders of Duck Yat Gaw Mein, which is roast duck soaking in a delicious broth surrounded by amazing noodles, shrimp and lobster sauce, and a few other goodies. Hit the car dealer on the way home.
Actually had my G10 with me to take some shots of taking delivery of the car, but was too busy with paperwork, synching my new iPhone to the bluetooth, transferring my phone book to the car, etc.
Just got home, ate some soup, and about to make a few cappuccinos and watch some TV.
What'd you all do, cuddle up to stay warm, in your dingy, dark homes before dusk? ;)

Mark,
I thought you'd be hanging with the Polar Bears at the zoo, but I guess you wised up in the end.
You tryin' to show off? Acura MDX 09? Are we supposed to be impressed by your lavish lifestyle? A few cappuccionos? You drink that from a gold plated cup with embedded diamonds or something? Eating some roast beef heroes and then going to Wo Hop for some Duck on the go? Who do you think you are?
...ok, I am impressed.
So what did I do today? Pretty much similar to what you did...I shoveled some snow, took a dump, watched some TV. OK...so I didn't buy a brand new MDX today and I don't have a son to share a nice juicy roast beef sammich with...
Mark, you lookin' for a short Asian dude to adopt? ;-)

Hey, I was wondering if you were still alive. Thanks for breakfast, sir.
Now how's about some feedback, you rat.
How'd the kitchen come out?
I know you Canon dudes/dude-ettes (and I'm still one at heart) won't be much interested, but I just got an SU-800 for the first night of Chanukah, something I specifically asked for. It's the equivalent of the STE-2, a remote speedlight commander. I'm going outside to take a pic of my new ride to post for you guys. Stay tuned.
BTW, wanna know what else exciting I'm doing? I wish I was watching a rat gnaw on an old pizza box. No, I'm reloading Mac OS X, as after downloading a security update last night on my MacBook Pro, it refuses to boot. After two hours on the phone with Apple, this was the solution. damn.
