I just got my camera, a SD200. All was fine until I turned it on and noticed a deadpixel on the LCD screen, I just bought it today, is Best Buy going to exchange for a new one?

:banghead: This has happened to me before w/ my lapotop I still have, they BSed me about sending me a new one. It never came and I just gave up. I got used to it because the screen is so big, but it's really noticable on the 2". I hope they let me exchange it.

Dont give up....be assertive.
I dont know best buy, how did you pay? by credit card - In UK you have rights through the credit company - not sure which country you are in.

I have 2 & just ignore them. I think there's a limit you have to reach before you can get a replacement - don't know what it is but think it's been covered somewhere in the forum.

As long as the dead pixel is on ur LCD and doesnt affect ur actual photograph then dont worry about it. I myself wouldnt be too worried because i like Electronic viewfinders much better then an LCD, so if there are burnt pixels on the LCd u dont see them in the viewfinder. Its neat :p

On a LCD display (15" plus) you need 5 stuck/dead pixels before its officially faulty. Not sure what rule applies to 2" screens.

WOOHOO!! Not true for Samsung anymore. If there are any dead pixels found on a Samsung Brand LCD Display bought on or after 1/1/2005, they will replace it...no questions asked.

I had a dead pixel or a group of them with my first 20D, I was able to exchange it for a new one.

Wow.. Samsung has a nice dead pixel policy. I used to love NECs. You had to have 15 or more dead pixels for them to take an LCD back
