This is the one I'm referring to:
Lowepro Primus Minimus (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Primus-Minimus%20AW,2109.htm)

Looking for a bag with the following features:
1. Backpack
2. Quick access to camera without having to set bag down
3. Able to fit camera+medium zoom in ready position
4. Extra lens or 2
5. Rain cover
6. Facility on backpack straps to attach camera strap to, to take weight off of neck using neck strap
7. Can secure a tripod
8. Not too big in size

I think this bag may be what I am ultimately looking for. However, being that it is quite new? I can not find any reviews for it.

Some cons: High price tag and not much capacity for camera gear.

Anybody have this bag?
Thanks.

I have this one (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Flipside-400-AW,2116,14.htm).

326625 (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Flipside-400-AW,2116,14.htm)

It carries a lot of equipment, can be flipped around for access, access is against the back for security (plus it does not get dirty). Very flexible. My only problem is that it will not hold my Think Tank modular components.

I went and extensively played with the Primus Minimus. I really liked the bag quite a bit except for the fact that the quick access opening did not accomodate my 5d with grip.

Otherwise it was able to swallow a fairly decent load and not look to bulky. The quick access opening is a big fiddly when trying to remove the camera while still on your back, but works well, once you get used to it.

It just didnt fit MY kit. but I would strongly urge you to test it out first.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I read a little about the Flipside, but not sure I like the way you have to rotate it to the front to access the camera... Nice looking bag though.

eeeksNYC: Yeah, I wish I can see this bag first hand before purchasing. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful at locating a store that carries it in the Los Angeles area. That is why I'm trying to solicit as much information as I can... Which bag did you end up with?

I don't use a camera grip, so the access opening will probably fit my needs. I'm also aware of the LowePro Fastpack, LowePro Slingshot, Kata 3n1, but am currently leaning toward the Primus Minimus.

One other thought might be the Think Tank Rotation 360?

javanutsy: still on the hunt. Currently using a Dakine Mission Photo. Not bad...but quick access is not its forte.

I believe there are demo videos on youtube for the Primus Minimus. I'm not to good at ID-ing the camera that they use, but it does show that you can pull out a non gripped body with attached 70-200 2.8 fairly easily

Thanks for the youtube tip! Found a few videos with the Minimus. :) I might have to order this bag to give it a try...

Did you get one? I am interested in this backpack too. I wonder if 50D without grip can go in and out the side opening.
