Actually these are my young Korean students again, but dressed in their elementary school uniform - Jogging pants. Actually let me know which one you like best. Still new to this and all the comments are helpful.

I wish I had asked them to fake those bored expressions...

Which one do you prefer?
the first is taken with the 18-55 Lens
The second with the 50mm f1.8 II

Cheers...

Looks kind of boring to me ...

have you had any other ideas with students?
Do they ever have a different expression?

Learning should be fun, teacher should express this.

Sometimes the humour gets lost in typed words...I couldn't agree with you more...It's part of the reason I bring the Camera in at all...it is a great way to get get the students thinking...

Teaching English as a second language in South Korea, is a real challenge. To get the students thinking on their own and responding on their own instead of spitting out the same memorized text that is slammed down their throats is a task in and of itself...especially when the entire education system is based on memorization. Far more challenging than when I taught in Canada.

Without getting any further into a philosophical debate, I'll post a couple others just so you know the first was posed not candid - it is terribly difficult to catch candid snaps of the students when you are teaching them, after all you are standing in front of them and interacting with them all the time...but I did manage to get one and the other is just a cute picture of one of the kids mimicking me.

These ones are much better, the first were a little bland, but these two are great.

Ok, with regards to the extra information that you have posted, I can now look at the images in a different light. Now they mean something different to me. They seem like images which will bring me slightly into the world of students who are trying to understand a pinch of the American language, and culture.
With this being expressed to me; I have to mention that I really do like the extra two images that you have added.
First one gives me the impression of a student that is more than happy to help out a classmate.

The second one shows insight to a childs personality.

Something interesting to try:
You should actually give some of them the camera, and let them take a few images while in class. Then you could share these images with us.
I think others, along with myself wouldn't mind seeing what your, and their perspectives are.

Plus it would be good memories for you, as you could show others in the future..

Bye .

With my old Point and Shoot I had no problem giving it to the students...I am a lot more hesitant to hand over the Rebel to my students who really don't understand the value...

Between the first two, I like the second one best. But I like the last one you posted even better. 8)
