Best photo of 2008?
I photograph British F3 99% of the time so I thought I'd choose something differant, a Peugeot 908 LMES. These things drive round with headlights on so you have to compensate for that with "head on" shots then revert back to normal settings for side on panning.....how inconsiderate.

Don't sell yourself short, that's a great shot!!

I think we all start out just learning how to take a good picture of a moving car, it's after that we start to work at telling a story with a single photograph. You've done that well with this one.

This is one of my faves from the year,first try with a 400mm f5.6,its the jock taylor race meeting at knockhill race track, Fife Scotland. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3078/2919265293_9b0db8df32_o.jpg the racer with no1 was third on the last lap of the last race,he overtook the 2nd place rider on the last corner and won the scottish championship by one point!!!!.
The picture was uploaded onto flickr at low res,it makes it look slightly soft.

Here's mine. Technically not superb, slightly blurred and over exposed, but a car on one wheel has to be a winner any day! Just one out of the sequence. Car went on to crash through the sandbags too.

Oh, and the CCC's are there to prevent the image wandering.

Amazing I agree with you 100% about the car-to-car rollings compared to rigs. I'm not unfortunate as you to achieve these on closed rollings, but I try and incorporate similar angles
