With the season (and the year) rapidly drawing to a close, now is the time to blow your own trumpet and show everyone the motorsport shot you are most proud of from 2008.

Maximum 1 shot per person, please. I'll delete all bar the first if you post more.

Quite an easy choice this for me this year, and the picture was taken on the second last event I will cover. It's the only picture that I've wanted to get framed for the wall (I'm picking it up from the framers later this week :D).

http://www.srh-motorsport-photography.com/Galleries/forum/best08.jpg

I'd waited 3 years to take this picture - it took that long for the organisers of the rally to finally run the stage in this particular direction. It's not the most spectacular shot we'll see posted in this thread I'm sure, but the background gives so much context to the image, the car itself has a lot of history and it is being driven by two huge names in British rallying (Mark Higgins and Nicky Grist)

Cheers,

Simon.

This is a tough one for me to pick, as I had a few favourites from Snowcross, ATV MX, Sportscars and from Sprint Cars. I had to pull out my receding hair, scratch the whiskers off my chin, and make a sandwich before I decided to go with the following. Probably because it was 40 below zero at the time, it was in the backyard of the Ski-Doo factory for all intents and purposes, and even my sister likes it.

Thanks Glenn. I couldn't believe my luck when the sun came up to reveal snow on the mountain tops and mist in the valley below. The boss might even allow me to hang it in the study at home

Not my best shot but I still like this one - probably because of the race that lead up to this.

Late in a superbike race, bike #1 on his way to win the race as the closest pursuer (and fierce rival) slides off in the background after an amazing race-long battle with both riders dicing for, and swapping the lead.

Certainly not my best but it is my favorite of 2008. I liked the fact that the driver of the #22 car didn't know the meaning of the word quit.

This is a very hard decision for me because I was at a lot of show but heres my pick. This is a photo I took of a good friend, Kelvin Ramer in Natural High, in action at the John Shipman Motorsports Central Valley Fall Nationals in Turlock, CA back in the beginning of October

Howdy RJC, Hillary has just taken the scott kalitta memorial trophy about an hour ago.

Let me tell you it has been a hell of a weekend for nitro. Hilary went 4.70 over 1320 and she was the quickest over the weekend.

It's too freaking hot for nitro

Hi there,

Taking some time over Christmas to play catch up. While sorting through my pics from 2008 I thought I would add one of mine to this thread.

This was taken at the 2008 Silverstone Classic event. 'Jaguar' was one of the themes of this years event and during the lunch break there was the chance to see some of the most famous Jaguars out on track.

This shot is perhaps my favourite shot of 2008, not because its anything special technically. Its just a shot taken from the bunker just before 'Bridge' at Silverstone.

What makes it special in my opinion is the fact that there is a Le Mans winning 1988 Jaguar XJR9 being followed by a one off and probably priceless Jaguar XJ13, followed by a rare and valuable C Type being followed by an equally rare D Type.

I think I found heaven that day and it looks like a great place.

http://www.dunlopix.com/Jags281208.jpg

Hope you like it.

Regards

Tim

Certainaly not my most interesting shot but this was a real pig to nail. At this point on this circuit car was at over 170mph and shot handheld at 300mm on 1.6 cropped sensor giving 480mm at 1/320th to try and get as much sharp as possible while still conveying the speed. And didnot realize at the time about the sparks from bottoming out!

So many good shots here

I did'nt get to many motor sport events this year, but i got to my first rally event, rallye of deustchland. And my favourite from this event is of P.Solberg cornering it widely in the wine fields, being less then a meter from him passing by at 100-120km's n hr was such a rush.
I think it is going to make a good poster

Great Shot, love the low down angle.
