I was riding home on my bicycle the other night and passed through Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA and saw that the lights in the Conservatory of Flowers were on. It was a very dramatic scene and I just so happened to have my 20d with the kit lens in my messenger bag, so I stopped to take some pictures. I don't have any experience taking night shots and I didn't have a tripod, so I bumped up the ISO and free-handed it best I could (1600 ISO f4 @ 1/3s). I think it came out pretty well.... Thanks for looking and I'd appreciate any input. Toner http://cliffromig.smugmug.com/photos/17234582-L-1.jpg

It's nice but could use a bit of sharpening if you ask me.

Nice picture but hard to really see details.

Well, i wasn't really after detail - more after the mood of the shot. If I'd been after detail I'd have gone home and picked up the tripod and my wide angle zoom, but I had no idea how long the lights would be on. Sometimes you have to take what you can get... I did do some modest unsharp mask on it and I have a version that I put through the watercolor filter, which I like even better. Thanks for the comments.

I like it too, but I would just level it.

geeze, I just realized it's not level... thanks for the feedback, folks. I think I'll really like this site. I've had my 20d since Xmas and have taken about 4000 pics... Previous camera was a Nikon 990, which takes great pics, but it's slow, slow, slow... To be able to snap, snap, snap is a wonderful thing... Cheers, Toner

I still like it...you can straighten and sharpen it in PS or MSDIP10. It captures the mood well.
