I have one kb244.deviantart.com , but I dont go to it too often, since a year or more ago, it seemed to be overrun by young teens, at one point even there was a flurry of self-multilation and suicide style artwork being published, along with a number of goth-like situations, so the community there isnt as diverse as I would had hoped percentage wise.Seems like Half Goth, Half Anime/Cartoon Fan Arts, then a third portion in the mix attracting visits/comments cuz they show breasts. I'm sure there are some great artists still on there, but they've become almost saturated out of sight and require some looking for.

I've got one too! See my sig. Agree to a large extent with the above comments but if you cut through the dross there are some EXTREMELY talented photographers on there, you just need to find them!

I got banned from that site for accusing someone of being a pedophile. I went to his site where he had favorited my little 11 year old goddaughter and on his site I found nothing but pornography, straight nude and sex with some really young looking girls. I reported it to the administrators and wrote him a little note saying how I wish sick freak pedos like him would stay in hell where they belong, and when I got an note back from the website's administrators they said *I* was the one at fault for being offensive and "abusive" to one of their members.

The website has a bad name in the area where I live, I once thought about using their custom products service but the RoR (rate of return) is very, very unreasonable. Not to mention its overrun by young teens and more than half the site is full of porn.

A friend of mine had linked his portfolio which is really popular on deviantart to a client and they revoked business with him. Later found out he was being accused of having connections to working with a porn site. Now that's all well and good if you're in that field, but as a family and kids photographer that can really hurt business.

It's good as a hobby site but never use it as a portfolio.

It's also on some ISP's blacklists, and even entire countries (China) have declared it illegal.

not surprising. i have an account there...never use it. it's banned where i work...can't navigate to it because most of the content is "corporately objectionable".

to each his own i say however.
