tough choice - parade photos or beer?

I have a tough choice today. A guy's leaving work, so there's going to be drinking, curry, and much merryment, and it would be a fun night. My other choice is to have only a couple of drinks, go take photos of the St Patricks day parade tonight, then see if anyone's left at the celebration.

Merryment, vs learning some photography, and a small chance of selling a few pics. I talked to the parade organiser, if i'd called a few days earlier I could have gotten a paid gig doing the photos! :(

Which would you do?

St Patrick's comes every year - your friend won't. Put the camera and your car keys in a safe place and have a good time.

Go to the party and take pictures there. Get the paid gig next year for the parade.

How about partying and getting paid ! Go to the party, take pictures, send blackmail letters, get paid..LOL.. Just kidding ! Hope you have fun .

Bought what gear?! I ended up being able to take parade photos and going to the event... there was an hour where people were making their drunken way from the bar to the resturant, I went and took the photos during that! I also took photos at the resturant :) I'll post a few of the best pics once I get a chance to process them :)

Bought, brought, i'm hung over and missed the little Rrrrrr. I'll post links here once I get some photos up. Here's one to whet your appetite, probably the best photo of the night, though it's a shame I was at F2.8 instead of F8 or so.
