Taken with a recently purchased second hand EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. What are those worm-like features in the backgound, is that bokeh from the trees, is it normal? Analysis greatly appreciated!
Taken at 105mm, 1/160s, f/5, ISO-400 (if that helps!)

I remember all the trees being behind the fence, some of that just looks like it is in front, maybe it's just a trick of the light, I've just never seen out of focus background look like that before!
Where does the word bokeh come from anyway?

Part of it is bokeh, but I'm not so sure about the yellow thing. Maybe check your sensor and look through the lens when it's off the camera.
