...OK anther wierd off topic one from the same person who bought you 'What is the differnce between a screw and bolt'.
I am having a rough week, and the most minor of things seem to interest me, so here is the latest, found a 1.5L bottle of Diet Lime Coke in the freezer that a friend put in there four days ago to cool quickly, well is is still liquid, not frozen. The rest of the freezer is fine. With all the artificial chemicals, this stuff must be like anti-freeze!

Or Your freezer is broken!
On occation I have had my refrigerator temperature set around 0 celcious and if I left a 1,5 liter coke long enough in there it froze.

If it hasn't burst yet and you want to do an experiment, take it out of the freezer and open it. I have had some in my lunch bag that were all liquid when the bottle was sealed, but developed a large amount of ice as soon as it was opened. Why? Who knows, something to do with the carbonation, I guess.
Have Fun,

I put a cold 600ml diet caffine free coke in the freezer at work for 15 minutes, it turns to slush that quickly. I haven't left it in for longer than that so I dunno if it freezes.

We ahve had other bottles freeze or slush up quickly, but not that lime stuff. Shame I am at work now, would be good to try the above trick and open it to see if it ices up!

Have Fun,
When you compress gases, the process generates heat which gets dissipated into the surrounding. When you put the bottle or can of soda in the freezer, it gets cooled even more. If it reaches a temperature just above the freezing point of the liquid and then the bottle is opened, the compressed CO2 in the soda expands. This expansion causes the gas molecules to absorb heat from its surrounding (in this case the soda) and causes it to drop in temperature. So, if the liquid temperature is hovering just above freezing, this chilling effect pushes the liquid to the freezing point and causes the soda to freeze.
Most people experience this "chilling" phenomenum when they use a spray can of paint or hair spray and keep the spray going for a while.
If you want to know at what temperature a bottle of soda freezes, just put it into the freezer until it freezes. Then take it out and put a thermometer into it. The soda will maintain the same temperature (the freezing temperature) until it has completely melted.

I think Diet Lime Coke is made from Ethylene Glycol.

Nah, been there done that!
Now freezing softdrinks, that is where it is at, cheaper than photography as well!
(actually I would be out shooting if I wasn't stuck at work :( )

Why not do both. Take a picture of a bottle of soda as it goes through its freezing phases.

Don't let Canon know this is taking over photography, they will be putting red rings around the top of the top of the bottles.

At least it was a nice, fast, wide open 1.5LCoke you were freezing, so it's photography related. ;)
