Last night i made a quick test of the Astronomik UHC-E EOS filter near Paris (France)

1. 30 seconds @ 1600 ISO without UHC-E
2. 30 secondes @ 1600 ISO with UHC-E
3. 180 seconds @ 1600ISO with UCH-E

Looking very good. Stack around thirty of #3 and you'll have quite an image.

I use the Hutech IDAS LP filter, works great as well.

Excellent comparison. We should have a thread here for filter recommendations, with similar comparison images. I've got cheap nebular, IR, minus violet and LP filters, plus an Astronomik CLS filter, but I don't use many of them because I've not spent time testing what exactly the benefits are. Perhaps when I get some clear skies I'll run some tests.
