I'm looking for a good affordable tripod, but since I don't know anything about tripod and never owned one .. I cant really make a good determination.

I saw this Sunpak HD for 80 bucks at Circuit City and it seems steady, but once again I'm not sure if its a good tripod. Anyone ever dealt with this tripod?

Yes or Nay?

Recommendations are also welcome ...

I think that's the one I have. It worked great with my xti and tamron 28-75. With my 40d, 17-55, and 430ex the head doesn't stay put. So it depends what you put on it.

I don't know about the amvona on ebay anymore but I saved a good deal of money for a good CF tripod. It's no Gitzo but I've done 30 second exposures with a 70-200 with an XTi and not had creep. That was about $130.00.

Will be fine for a XSi and kit lens, the problem comes when you upgrade to bigger lenses and bodies...
