I wish. I used my 16-35f/2.8LII for this. I don't have a 24 tilt/shift but they look like fun.
Perspective correction done in Photoshop CS3.

Your verticals are so spot on I figured it had to be a T/S...
Another masterpiece in your current epic!

I am grateful for the kind words. I enjoy shooting fine architecture and Yale in New Haven Connecticut has it by the boat load.
BTW...I was looking at your pbase gallery and you have the greatest cat portrait I have ever seen.

Really? Which one caught your eye?
As for shooting around Yale, I bet there's hundreds of nooks and crannys. Not to mention all the little architectural details and such.

I left a comment on it. I'll repeat it here:
"One of the finest cat photos of all time. Has the class of an Audry Hepburn portrait."

Don't know what to say really. Considering you're the source, that's very high praise. I thank you...

Aided by sugar free Red Bull, coffee, and dyslexia from two weeks of law school finals, I read this as "you have the greatest carport I have ever seen." Confusion ensued when the link following was instead a cat portrait. A lovely cat portrait, but I'd be careful attempting to fit an automobile anywhere in the shot. ;)
The subject picture above is one of those shots that makes me think, okay that's what I mean when I tell myself I want to improve my skills.
Edit: perfect timing for me to see the shot too-- just last night I was reading Scott Kelby's The Digital Photography Book and learned that my habit of matching the horizon to the midpoint of the photo (every single time) was a telltale sign of an amateur.

Superb composition. I am yet to see a "bad" photo of yours...and even then I am sure a bad shot from you would be better than the best shot I can do. Wonderful pieces of work!

HDR it is. Photomatix 3.0. I use that to create a flat, dull looking image but one with a very wide dynamic range. Then I take the image into Photoshop and add contrast. Contrast is the key.
Thanks for all the comments folks.

Coolest shot I've seen in a while. I like how the colors intensify as you go towards the door. It's hard to quit looking at it.
Excellent work.

Interesting shot, I like it! Again, one of the pretty rare and few HDR's that really look good to me. Nice job with this.

A classic example of what makes a great photograph! Pleasing to look at and your eye just wants to keep exploring. Eye(I) started at the door, followed the walk out and back to the door. Continued out the left wall and back, then the right wall and back. Looked at the patio area and then started back down the walk...Your eye just wants to keep exploring.
Fantastic Processing as well, Gives me somthing to strive for. (Hey I can dream can't I)

Nice Tom. I really like the orange door and the orange on the tree. They almost match. Also the cool green in the foreground and its a nice balance to the warmer colors and the perspective of this image is awesome. The implied depth is really cool.
